From romantic encounters to general friendships, almost everyone experiences some type of relationship. Relationships are an important part of life, but sometimes relationships can become complicated, especially when love is involved. Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises, provides insufficient information about his characters and instead allows them to be revealed through their dialogue, their actions, and their interactions with one another. In particular, aside from only incorporating descriptions through Jake’s narration, Jake Barnes and Robert Cohn’s relationships contain parallels and similarities that can allow more in depth understanding of the characters. Apparently Cohn endures the verbal abuse Frances takes out on him. Jake describes Frances as â€Å"very force ful† and after realizing she wanted to get married due to aging, â€Å"her attitude toward Robert changed from one of careless possession and exploitation to the absolute determination that he should marry her† (Hemingway 13). Just from the single instance where Jake meets Cohn and Frances at a cafà ©, Cohn will not defend himself and allow Frances to publically berate him harshly as he sat there. Frances is willing to voice her opinion and dominate any ounce of masculinity Cohn may possess. Through her selfish desires and anger, she verbalizes her frustration publically and without discretion. Cohn thought â€Å"he was sure that he loved [Frances]† in the beginning, but unfortunately he had to tolerate her up until their separation (Hemingway 13). Not only do Jake and Cohn strive to have a functional romantic relationship, they will go to great lengths in attempts to make it happen, such as following Brett even though they were both rejected (on different occasions). Jake follows Brett to be around her as much as he could, but only enough time to satisfy his longing to be with her. Incident Report and Observation Teamwork is an essential aspect for effective performance of every organization. The performance measurements have different benefits that include the quality increase, cost decrease, capability increase, skills increase, identity and motivation increase (De Waal Van der Heijden 2015). Skills increases are clearly observable when students and teachers can set goals, persist, and maintain a positive outlook to achieve the academic objectives, for example, the set marks and mean grades. After the motivational talk, individuals tend to realize their true identity band gains morale to perform the duties assigned to them, through reading and various activities thereby improving on their knowledge (Mozza 2013). All of these require proper management plan that is strategic. Strategic planning is definable as the process of developing and maintaining consistency between the goals and the available resources to achieve the end goal. According to Roosa (2016), explains the strategic planning in four aspects which are the strategic formulation, environmental scanning, goal s, and budget all articulated together since the aspects affect both students and teachers performance that can be reflected the top performance of the school. The effective strategic plan has different attributes such as scorecards (Zanotti 2012). It is observable that many institutions are having positive performance as the result of the basis rewarding, effective staffing and development decisions (Poropat 2011). These aspects are fundamental to the organizations as they are the most reflective indicators of the current and future performance. Therefore the relationship of these elements refers to as the performance theory. The theory develops and relates six foundational concepts that are the level of knowledge, level of identity, skills level, personal factors, context, and fixed factors (Lindbo 2013). The theory states that people have the capability of making extraordinary accomplishments that are related to different contexts such traditional contexts, non-traditional context, organizational learning. In the traditional context, the performance theory examines the learning in classrooms, workshops and other venues that are related to the traditionally associated with learning (Siddiqui 2014). In the non-traditional cont exts, the performance theory explains that traditional conceptualization as learning environments such as academic advising, departments, academic committees, and self-development. In the organizational learning, the performance theory examines the achievement of the organization. The previous Board meeting held on December 12, 2012 addressed ways on how to promote the motivational agenda of the teachers who had filed various pleas for example the inadequate motivational program. The teachers observed that their contributions were not adequately recognized therefore led to the convening of the board meeting on February 10, 2013. The meeting passed on the hypothetical plan to rejuvenate the strength of the teachers through creating a fund that will oversee the rewarding of the teachers that enable their respective subjects to be the best as well as students who will be the best performers. The plan was also to see the that all the teachers have an eating plan to since most of them were coming from far away from the school. The board together with the teachers came into agreement that with the plans, the teachers view of the workplace would change as most of them were likely to feel satisfied. These aspects include; does the student does the homework within the given time and on her/his own, how much does the student prepare before the lessons and is the student able to take the first initiative to overcome the challenges and many others. Observations On my fourth day in Kerio Secondary School board meeting that was held on April 9, 2014, as from 8.00 AM to 5.00PM as a board observer. I received a warm reception a sign to show that all the members were happy with my presence in the meeting that aimed at rewarding the best performance of the school on both the students and the teachers. I was given a chance to say a word of hello to them and highlight my objective as a new member in those meeting. I attended the meeting with a sole objective of identifying the weak points of all the stakeholders of the school that have led to the performance inconsistency in the national rating. As it was my first day in that meeting, I had to be attentive in the proceedings to have a better reflection on the performance mitigations. The meeting commenced by the recognition of the best performers the meeting proceeded to the public speeches and comments that started by the students followed by teachers board members and then finalized by visitors. Students praised efforts made by both parents and teachers in ensuring that they are at par with other neighboring schools who were to be more stable academically even though there was no much difference in the management structuring. Teachers raised different issues that affected their teaching programs such as high rate of absenteeism, inadequate of reading materials, a high number of students compared to the available teachers and low motivational activities. The board members responded to the issues raised by teachers by commending the energy placed and encouraging them not to lose hope in the fight for the schools vision. Boar d chairmen, Mr. Kelly Rally, assured teachers of his support on achieving the dreams starting by pursuing the agenda of engaging the teacher's organization body to add the required teachers to fill in the vacancies. Mr. Kelly insisted to the parents on the positive contribution towards encouraging and motivating the teachers through various ways such as stating a feeding program and provision of more reading materials. During my time to address the audience, I appreciated all the students and teachers that were identified as the best performers by giving them the little tokens as a sign of appreciation. I too addressed various issues that were raised by teachers and students about the school's performance. One student raised a concern on the relation of sleep and the performance rate. I tried to make students and teachers understand the need of having enough time to sleep since inadequacy of it affect the student attention and concentration, motivation and the academic performance. I told the board members that it was under their jurisdiction to oversee that the school was appropriately managed through addressing various issues even without calling the general meetings. Issues like the absenteeism are amicably addressed since many are; as a result factors such genuine reasons of sickness, lack of school fees, and others like students engaging in non-academic activities such as attending musical discos as identified by a parent. During the meeting, I was able to learn a lot of things ranging from the sufferings that teachers posted on infants schools undergo to realize the dreams of the students. Having tackled different issues on the meeting, I improved on my both motivational and communication skills as an upcoming educational speaker. Learning Journal and Advice to the Student From the weekly learning journal, I learned that not all the stakeholders of the school uphold the values of the schools due to varied factors that have led the fluctuation on the performance. A great number of students are just in the school for the sake of being present. Otherwise, they would be in different places had they been given a chance. This is because most of them have lost their future visions, therefore resulting in the high rate of absenteeism and lateness. I realized through different classes that most of the students tend to sleep during the lessons, and from my investigation, I concluded that most of the classes were very hot during the afternoon hours. These factors affect their performance making them gauge themselves as losers thus do not put extra efforts. I realized that some teachers feel unappreciated by the school fraternity as the efforts they have made to advance the school to the higher level. The effect of their effort not realizable has dropped their eng agement rate with the students that have transferred to the school inconsistency. Finally, the board members do not immediately address the non-academic issues raised by teachers that have resulted to different growth misunderstandings. Due to the rapid change in every aspect of the world, board observer professionalism is not excludable too. To the students who have the dream of becoming a board observer shortly, I would advise them to adopt various aspects that would help them be successful in their work with different kind of students. The aspects include commitment, ability to empower, effective communication, passion, and patience. Additionally, they have to learn on how to understand technology and ways they can manage their online reputations using the social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and many others. Technology is growing very fast and knows which tools are right for the teacher and the students. The new era of digitalization, a social network is prone to almost every profession and the students too. They have to wisely use the platforms such as LinkedIn as a tool to connect with the colleagues and avoid those that are common to the students such as snapshot. The reasons are the capability to avoid close socialization with the students that would lead to losing their respect to the students eventually affecting on how they disseminate the in formations to the students (Azzali Abdel 2015). The teachers that are or will be using the social media should learn on how and when to unplug from the platforms and just relax the brain from the burnout by letting the students kick their heels up and unwind. It is very critical for all students that will be taking the line of teaching to learn the skills of empowering as it is a skill that helps many people to think critically, be innovative, and be creative, passionate, and flexible. In conclusion, organization performance is useful when all stakeholders take the chance to evaluate self-performance and adjust accordingly to attain given objectives. When individual learn the aspects of growth, they tend to empower the common organization results, and all these should follow a systematic way that is more to adaptive than control. The adaptive system is likely to yield positive behavior change unlike the control system that on many occasions result into negative behaviors. The importance of the conch is represented right at the start as Ralph and Piggy use it to summon the scattered boys. â€Å"Ralph grasped the idea and hit the shell with air from in his diaphragm. Immediately the thing sounded. A deep, harsh note boomed under the palms, spread through the intricacies of the forest and echoed back from the pink granite of the mountain†(14). Right after the conch is blown boys immediately start to leak in from the lush forest. Once everyone is together and acquainted, there is a meeting held where there is talk among the boys about needing a â€Å"chief†. After comparisons between Jack and Ralph, the more favorable selection points to not only Ralph himself but for the fact that it is he who possesses the conch. As reasons are tossed back and forth there fo r the selection of chief there are some specific ones that were noted about Ralph starting with â€Å"†¦there was his size, and attractive appearance; and most obscurely, yet most powerfully, there was the conch. The being that had blown that†¦was set apart†(19). As the reader can see the conch has displayed already an almost illuminating presence of power from the shell. Right from the moment Ralph claims the position of chief and bearer of the conch, there is a never-ending stab at power and control by Jack as he tries to undermine Ralph, which is present until the very end. Towards the middle of the novel is when Ralph’s authority gets questioned. Along with the organization of the boys little society seeming to slowly evaporate into a regressed state of savagery of which Ralph, Piggy, Simon, and SamnEric seem to avoid. At this point Jack has established a group known as the â€Å"hunters† and is as thirsty for control as ever as he demonstrates when he announces to a group of boys â€Å"We’ll hunt. I’m going to be chief†(123). As events start to fold out and the story continues, the only thing that keeps Ralph holding on to a any link to authority is the conch, but even that seems to be growing less and less of importance in the eyes of Jack’s tribe. In addition to this the reader can also notice that between the two tribes only one is in possession of the conch, which is Ralph's tribe. The symbolization of possessing the conch is that they maintain a civilized structure as well as being able to do things such as maintain a fire and also be able to calmly talk about practical issues that must be addressed at the meetings. In contrast Jack’s tribe, which lacks the conch, is always acting foolish and savage, this could be because they lack the anchor to civilization. The creation of the Net can not be blamed for the existence of hackers though, hackers are older than the Net itself, but the Net is the largest 'hacker haven' today (Spencer). The growth of the Net since its creation has been nothing less than astounding. In the 25-plus years since its creation, the Net now has over thirty million users using four million sites world wide. Estimates rate the growth of the Net anywhere from ten to fifteen percent per month (Spencer). The Internet was first released to major universities in the United States of America. Since then, the universities have offered connections to small business, service providers, and even to the individual user. Sometimes these connections cost a fortune, and sometimes they can be obtained for free (Larson). Today we will be talking about how the Lego company has started out and how it has gotten this far. Back in 1891 I don't think anyone would have thought it would be what it is today. We will be going back to the day that it started and getting in depth about what happened and how the group has grown to be this big today and what the machines are that the legos go threw. We will be getting into the history that most people don't know and uncovering it. The prices of original legos will be shown, the average cost of each lego produced and how much money they make off an average set of legos. The Lego Company begin in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen in 1891, the group had a carpenter from Billund, Denmark. Who began making wood toys in 1932. In 1934, his company had made their name Lego. In 1947 the Lego group downed their making in wood toys and started to manufacture Legos. Which today is a major company with a net worth of 5.9 billion dollars. The name Lego is a mixture of two Danish words leg and godt, which meant play well. It is their name and ideal. In the past 80 years the company has moved from a small workshop to a massive company producing tons of Legos each day the exact number each day is 36,000 each minute. The average cost of one lego is 10.4 cents. Most of the smaller sets of lego buildings cost around 8 dollars and the more difficult ones are anywhere between 40 dollars and 70 dollars. The lego company started using plastic after many fires happen from the wood and plastic came available after World War Two, so the group decided to try it out and got a plastic molding injection machine. One of the first toys made with the plastic was a truck that could be taken apart and put back together and the company hit it big on that one. The plastic products weren't taken serious like the metal or wood ones because the customers where so use to metal and wood that they were scared to try something new but Lego advertised and advertised and their toys where mainly directed toward pre-school kids. they never really hit it big in the beginning, it took time and persistence to get their toys made right. The Exploration of the Rite of Spring Costumes

Greenshields #1 The research for this paper was based off a question that came to, while re-visiting the history and celebrating the one hundredth anniversary of Vaslav Nijinsky’s creation of Le Sacre du Printemps, The Right of Spring that premiered in 1913. This question in mind has many dimensions when asked, to compare the relationship between the costumes of Nijinsky’s The Right of Spring and Pina Bausch interpretation of the score.When researching both ballets in relationship to the costumes that were represented in each version it becomes unclear of the real reasons behind the choices that Nijinsky and Bausch made to develop the style, design and visual effect of the costumes; Questioning whether there was a specific initial inspiration for the designs or perhaps it was the style in the time period when both individual ballets premiered and was influenced by fashion and society.Beginning to study where it all began in the early 1900’s with Nijinsky’s development of The Right of Spring the focus is on the involvement of individuals who took part in the creation and development process of the original costumes. This can be narrowed down to Nicholas Roerich as the designer, Igor Stravinsky who potentially provided inspiration for Roerich’s designs and finally Nijinsky himself.To look at and discover how Roerich was inspired and where the root of his designs developed from other than Nijinsky’s vision, if any, brings this piece of writing one step closer to clearly answering the question of not only where the costumes initiated from but also how they compare to later ballet costume creations. Speaking of other ballet costumes, there will be research done on Pina Bausch’s 1975 interpretation of The Right of Spring with regard to her costumes in comparison to Nijinsky’sGreenshields #2 costumes. The hopes are to gain a strong visual and rational understanding of the development the styles have gone through and the reasons for the advancement in ballet costumes. Having the opportunity to explore such a uniquely creative woman like Bausch, who had such an impact on the dance and choreography world, will allow this paper to go beyond a simple comparison between the costumes themselves but will allow further exploration of questions concerning how and why they developed into what they did.The suggestion of the time period potentially having an influence in the designs of Nijinsky’s and Roerich costumes also implies to Bausch’s costumes as well, which will coincide with the overall change that the performance ware came to since the early 1900’s to 1975. Nijinsky hired Nicholas Roerich to help with the creations and designs for his costumes due to his outstanding and miraculous art work and the international reputation he had developed for himself over the previous years.They began their collaboration for The Right of Spring in the early 1900’s, a few years before the 1913 premier. Roerich was faced with a big commitment when he was asked to create and design the costumes that would make or break Nijinsky’s piece Greenshields #3 of artistic work. Roerich accepted this task and immediately began consulting with Stravinsky, Diaghilev and of course Nijinsky to create what would soon to be the most unappealing cost umes during this time for the future world renowned ballet.Other ballets being produced during the early 1900’s began to present their dancers in more modern day ballet attire; â€Å"Clothes began to be more simple, leotards were worn and eventually the tutu† (Wagner). Nijinsky’s vision and Roerich’s designs completely went against the modern ballet look with the use of unflattering over sized material that covered the dancers shape and alignment, some even referred to them looking like â€Å"potato sacks† or â€Å"taters† (â€Å"essortment Your Source for Knowledge † ).One aspect of early 19th century ballet costumes that Nijinsky and Roerich grasped was the ability to use a variety of color and designs in the creation of the costumes, which they did very well. Roerich’s costumes were very unique in the way he used intricate patterns mixed with a variety of shapes and colors. H is designs were said to be inspired by Stravinsky ’s brilliant and century marking score he developed specifically for Nijinsky’s ballet and backed up by The Princess Maria Tenisheva’s collection that also helped initiate Roerich’s work.In the case of Roerich’s costume designs, the initial inspirations become evident yet we are still left with uncertainty as to why such foreign and unpleasant costumes came from such experienced, intelligent artists. In 1975, Pina Bausch the legendary dancer and choreographer had completed choreographing and premiering her own interpretation of Stravinsky’s score and Nijinsky’s story line to produce her own The Rite of Spring.Bausch was known for her elaborate and far fetch setting and images one sees on stage and in fact her interpretation of the Rite of Spring involved Greenshields #4 the dancers performing with a layer of dirt over the stage making the movement and choreography more difficult to perform as the piece progresses (Mackrell). Comparing Bausch costumes that were designed by Rolf Borzik to Nijinsky and Roerich designs it is evident that Bausch incorporated some aspects of the original costumes but developed them into a more modern day look.Bausch kept the lengthiness of the costumes but used a lighter material on the females and had the males dance shirtless to allow the dancer’s body and alignment to be visible. The material that Bausch had the females wear was so thin that as the dancers became more vigorous the material became damp with remnants of soil ground in. This making the costumes and choreography appeal more earthier and grounded in a natural way as opposed to Nijinsky`s, where he used thick, busy yet clean material with long braided head dresses to portray that earthy look.Bausch also eliminated color for all the other performers’ costumes except the virgin, who wore red to signify the importance of the sacrifice. This was well thought out on her part for there was more focus on the virgi n during the initial scene of the sacrifice and portrayed the characters in a modern day light with having the red dress be the focal point with shades of beige white and black subtly surrounding the red.While researching Pina Bausch and the creation of her costumes it became clear as to why she made changes from Nijinsky`s original costumes while producing her own. She evidently made the costumes more appealing to modern day society; â€Å"Russian Ballet had a wide effect, a remarkable influence on fashion† (Spencer 149-162), which happened to correspond and enhance the look of the movement and choreography on the dancer’s body.Unfortunately there lacked evidence on what or who inspired Bausch or Borzik to create these modern day costumes, Greenshields #5 which interfered in answering where the costume designs were inspired from but helped with the overall understanding of the relationship between Nijinsky`s and Bausch`s The Right of Spring costumes. This may be a rea lization for some that artists in a developing world are capable of adapting to the changes and progress in society.Taking a moment to step back and look at both the costumes from an outside perspective it is noticeable that each design gives off a completely different vibe from one another by the use of unique fabric, colors, shapes and patterns. There has been an enormous evolution in the dance wear from the 1900’s until now, and both Nijinsky’s and Bausch’s versions of the ballet are just two examples of the development it experienced in the 1900’s alone. After this period, costumes and dance wear in general continued on this path of development and grew into an enormous selection and an endless variety of designs to base any genera of costumes off of.One feature of costumes in general that continued through the decades of development is the ability to incorporate meaning and significance into the design of the outfit. Both ballets previously talked ab out in this essay present significance within their costumes through the shapes and intricate patterns inspired by Stravinsky that Roerich used on Nijinsky’s costumes and the use of a single solid color signifying the significance of the sacrificial virgin in Bausch’s interpretation. â€Å"Some of the figures thus formed came to have symbolical meanings† (Royce 192-212).This is a tactic still used in the performing arts today to help the audience fully understand the directors vision and or to signify something of importance that may influence how one sees the performance. Individuals use internet as an decisive tool for online payment of bills, online banking, online booking of cinema, plan travel, holiday accommodation booking, training & educational needs, make appointments with Beautician, Barber, Solicitor Doctor etc. Large sector of people depend on Internet for email correspondence and searching information for their everyday needs. Individuals will mostly use wireless web enabled devices such as Personal Digital Assistants, Windows CE pocket PC, RIM Pagers over Desktop PC’s. Customer & Consumer By the year 2005 Internet will be the most dominant method for buying products. â€Å"Customer Bargaining Power† becomes more evident as the customers have a great variety of choice from their desktops. Industrial consumer use Internet for placing their orders.
